smeyer failed me and every citizen of good standing when she didn’t make Post-breakup Bella recognize how dysfunctional her relationship with Edward was, that it had been too much too fast and that she had been too consumed by him to have a life of her own and now that he’s gone she slowly regains her sense of self and reconnects with friends and family and realizes there’s more to life than being in a relationship, and she spends more and more time with Jacob, and they click and it’s easy and comfortable and fun and she doesn’t worry that she’s not good enough or smart enough or beautiful enough, she’s not intimidated or awed by him, the love and connection they have with one another is human and natural, it’s simple and effortless, and the 1st time they say I love you they say it as friends and it feels right, and the 100th time they say it as lovers and it feels right too, and they both knew all along that one way or another, they’d spend the rest of their lives together and they move gently, peacefully towards their future.
I make one comment in the fb twilight shitpost group about Jasper potentially redeeming himself and suddenly dozens of people are criticizing me over my headcanon of a FICTIONAL character.
